Fight Breaks Out In Room Smaller Than A Line Pump Hopper, Crew Say Access Was Shit, Nobody Could Swing, And Someone Landed It Anyway
TIGHT QUARTERS — Every pumper in the country has stood in a doorway, looked at the access and said "there's no way we're getting a hose in there." Someone has just got a whole fight in there, and the knockout still landed.
The room is the size of a laundry cupboard, with two blokes in it and about a third of a bloke's worth of space to move. One is bare-chested and fired up. The other is wrapped head to toe in white like a pallet of cement bags. Between them is a bed frame, a doorway and the kind of clearance that would make a boom operator go home sick.
"Fighting in a small cell is different, it's not for everyone," is how one reader put it. A linehand was blunter: "That's a stick of pipe with no bends and still no room. I'd have called it a line pump job and gone back to the ute."
The only line said in the video is a man telling someone he'll chill out, he'll get his butt in here, but he's a kid. Nobody on a pour has ever sounded so reasonable while the access was this bad.
Production note: no forms, no barriers, no cube, and still a cleaner finish than most slabs we've seen.
Satire, obviously.PumpLife is a satirical publication about the concrete pumping and concrete industry. The stories here are made up for a laugh and are not statements of fact. Any resemblance to a real operator, concreter, pump or smoko is a coincidence.
