Longo's Nickname Officially Explained By Shadow of his drop hose That Reaches across 3 squares of mesh

WESTERN SYDNEY — Investigators have closed the long-running inquiry into how Longo got his name, after a photo from a pour morning showed his shadow stretched across a full deck of mesh and halfway up the wall.

The image was taken on a clear day, with the slab steel laid, the chairs in and the drop hose waiting at the edge. The shadow covers more of the deck than the crew's pump ever will.

"We always wondered," said one linehand, looking at the photo for a long time. "Now we know. It was never a mystery. He's just long."

A mock-expert from the Institute of Obvious Findings said the evidence was "fairly conclusive", adding that anyone who has watched Longo carry the drop hose through the mesh in squares would have worked it out years ago.

Longo, who is understood to move through reo with the confidence of a lion, declined to comment, citing the pour.

At press time, the slab was finished, the shadow had moved on and the nickname was still sticking.
