Cairns Operator Known As Pumpy Chick Puts Her Whole Job In Her Name While Every Other Bloke In Queensland Is Stuck With A Surname

On The Boom

FAR NORTH QUEENSLAND — Pumpy Chick has put the job title, the machine and the attitude into two words, and the Cairns trade has had to admit it never got that right. Tagged Junjin and pinned to the Tropical Queenslander Hotel, she has turned a concrete pump into a personal brand without a single sponsorship form.

"She put the job in the name," said one linehand, still holding a hose and a grudge. "The rest of us put it on the ute rego and in a divorce."

A branding consultant who has never held a remote called it "the cleanest naming job in the industry". He admitted that the average operator's nickname is a surname, a bad decision from 2014 and the word "Big".

Junjin now has a marketing department it never hired, never briefed and cannot switch off. Far North crews have started auditioning new names on smoko: Boomy Bloke, Hose Daddy and Cube Steve have all been rejected by the group chat.

The verdict is in. Every other operator in Far North Queensland is stuck with a name that only says what they drive, and not one of them has the nerve to fix it.

Satire, obviously.PumpLife is a satirical publication about the concrete pumping and concrete industry. The stories here are made up for a laugh and are not statements of fact. Any resemblance to a real operator, concreter, pump or smoko is a coincidence.
