BALI, INDONESIA — Two Australian men have reportedly embarked on an unexpected journey of self-discovery after being found in a Bali bathroom in circumstances locals are now referring to as “spiritually aggressive.”
Witnesses say the pair were “beyond cooked” after a long day of cheap drinks, bad decisions, and the unearned confidence that comes with being overseas and convinced nothing counts.
The incident came to light when one of the men emerged from a bathroom cubicle in a condition described as “completely compromised” — covered head to toe in what can only be described as the physical manifestation of regret — while his mate remained bent over the toilet bowl, deeply committed to the moment and refusing to explain himself to anyone with functioning senses.
“There was shit everywhere,” said one horrified onlooker. “On the floor. On the walls. On the vibe. And they were… close. Too close.”
What initially appeared to be a case of two blokes who’d gone too hard soon crossed into something more confronting, with witnesses describing the scene as “less mates and more partners,” united by intoxication, emotional openness, and a shared willingness to see where things went.
“At a certain point,” said one Aussie backpacker, “you stop saying ‘they’re off their heads’ and start saying ‘they’ve found something in each other.’”
Local authorities were called shortly after, arriving to a scene that required immediate ventilation, spiritual cleansing, and the donning of hazmat gear — not just for biological reasons, but “for personal safety.”
Indonesian police reportedly removed the two men from the premises while trying not to make eye contact, with one officer later confirming the pair appeared “comfortable, affectionate, and entirely unbothered by consequences.”
It’s understood the men may face time in an Indonesian detention facility, where sources suggest the adjustment could be difficult — although, based on their behaviour, not necessarily unwelcome.
“They crossed a line most people don’t even see,” said a local. “But they crossed it together.”
Australian travellers in Bali have since been reminded that:
-
Being overseas doesn’t make you immune to shame
-
Intoxication doesn’t excuse everything
-
And not every self-realisation needs witnesses
At press time, the bathroom had been sealed, the smell lingered, and the two men’s mates were reportedly deleting photos and pretending this never happened.
